'Assburgers Syndrome' Tops Google With Confused Searches For 'Asperger's Disease' (PICTURE)

Should we all be taking spelling lessons?

Given the number of searches for 'Assburger's Syndrome' [sic] this morning, it seems so.

NBC's new TV drama 'Parenthood,' which airs Tuesday nights, features a couple whose son has Asperger's Syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder.

Wednesday morning, queries relating to 'Asperger's Disease' and 'Asperger's Syndrome' topped Google Trends, which tracks popular search terms.

While people's curiosity and efforts to understand Asperger's Syndrome are to be applauded, we couldn't help but be taken aback by the volume of searches for 'Assburger's Syndrome.' (see screenshot below).

Perhaps people really were looking for information on 'Assburger's'--but if so, we've never heard of the illness. (although Urban Dictionary and Uncyclopedia do have definitions have the term 'Assburger,' and HuffPost readers have suggested it is the official 4chan spelling.)

Google Trends belied our vocabulary failings following Tiger Woods' apology, when queries for 'transgression definition' hit the top spot on Google.
