Know a certain someone who's worked tirelessly to help impoverished kids, protect the environment or otherwise impact others in an innovative, positive way?

Nominate that person as a CNN hero and share his or her story with the world. Submission acceptance for 2011 ends Wednesday, August 31 at midnight PST. Any nominations received after that are eligible for 2012.

Those recognized as CNN Heroes in the past have gained awareness for their their causes and increased support, allowing them to make a greater difference.
