Is bisexuality more accepted in society than homosexuality? In 1985, Neal Boulton came out as bisexual to his family. On Monday, he told HuffPost Live host Ahmed Shihab-Eldin about how that turned out: "I was still asked to move out of my house, so it doesn't always work."
Now married, Boulton revealed one of the most appealing aspects of being in a relationship with another bisexual.
"There was no more need for explanations, there were no questions, there really wasn't a need to talk about our sexualities, we are just the same," he said. "And it was the first time in my life that I didn't have to explain anything anymore."
Boulton continued, saying that those explanations and definitions may not even be possible.
"I don't think that bisexuals really need the approval or the disapproval of the straight, gay or lesbian community," he said. "The reality is that for bisexual people, as my wife likes to say, there aren't enough numbers on the Kinsey scale to define us, and I'll leave it at that."
