This image from today's NYT is a brilliant, if sad commentary, on the absence of Democratic Congressional leadership.

If not for Chris Dodd, standing up the end of the line and promising a real-live fillibuster of yesterday's wiretapping amendment, the Dems (from Reid, on down this shamefully absent row) would have granted immunity to the massive telephone companies (the N.S.A.'s enablers) for the sake of Harry and Co.'s fear of standing up to Bush, and maybe not getting out of town on time.
