Blogger Cory Morning Star is reporting that international best-selling author and columnist Naomi Klein was speaking at an event in Copenhagen last night when she along with other attendees were tear-gassed.

The event was taking place in Christiania, a self-proclaimed autonomous neighbourhood of about 850 residents, that resides within the borders of Copenhagen. Late last night I bumped into a rather confused looking gentleman who told us that police had descended on Christiana with dogs, guns, truncheons and tear gas.

The irony is that Klein was in Christiania to talk about a non-violent protest planned for this Wednesday.
