Melanie Bishop writes fiction, nonfiction and screenplays and has taught all these subjects at Prescott College in Arizona for 22 years, where she was also founder and fiction/nonfiction editor for Alligator Juniper. Her young adult novel, My So-Called Ruined Life, was released by Torrey House Press in January, 2014, and was a top-five finalist for both the John Gardner Award in Fiction, sponsored by University of Binghamton, and the Firecracker Awards, sponsored by Council of Literary Magazines & Presses--CLMP. Currently in Prescott, she works as a writer, editor, coach and book doctor (Lexi Services), and reviews books for Huffington Post, Carmel Magazine and New York Journal of Books.
