History may very well be made this Sunday at the 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards taking place at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater.

In addition to Alfre Woodard’s nomination for Best Supporting Actor in “Steel Magnolias” and Don Cheadle’s Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series nod for his role in Showtime’s “House of Lies,” Kerry Washington is up for the outstanding lead actress in a drama series for her popular role in ABC’s “Scandal.”

The 36-year-old’s nomination is the first since Cicely Tyson’s 1995 nomination for “Sweet Justice” that an African-American actress has led the category. To celebrate Woodard, Cheadle, and Washington’s Emmy honors, we decided to take a look at a few of our favorite scenes from their nominated roles.
