Anderson Cooper usually heads right into dangerous territory, but an explosion at a nuclear power plant in Japan had the CNN anchor wondering if he should get out of the area.
Cooper, who has been reporting from the country in the wake of the massive earthquake that struck on Friday, was anchoring his show on Sunday night (Monday afternoon in Japan when he got news that there had been a second explosion at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Cooper was in the midst of speaking to nuclear expert Jim Walsh about the blast, but he stopped and turned to his crew.
"How far are we from Fukushima?" Cooper asked them. "Which way is the wind blowing?" He told Walsh he was concerned, since he was 100 kilometers north of the reactor.
"The subtext here, Jim, is, should I get out of here?" he asked Walsh.
Luckily, Walsh told him that he was "inclined to think" Cooper and his team would be okay.
