He may have been ready to cut the lawn, but he couldn’t cut a deal.
Bryan Remley, 25, allegedly broke into a couple’s home in St. Petersburg, Florida, then tried to convince the homeowners to let him go free in return for mowing their lawn, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The proposal started when Joseph Cihak, 31, got up around 4:30 a.m. on August 28 to use the bathroom and found Remley rummaging in his living room.
Cihak conveniently had a gun with him because he and his wife, Colleen Traversa, carry a handgun if they leave the bedroom at night, according to the Tampa Tribune.
Cihak told cops that he fired two shots at Remley after the suspect charged at him. Meanwhile, Traversa called 911. Cihak grabbed a second gun after the first one jammed and the couple held Remley at gunpoint until police arrived.
Before police got there, though, Remley allegedly offered to cut their grass if they let him escape.
They apparently refused, and Remley — who cops say was carrying a small knife — was arrested and charged with armed residential burglary and violation of probation, according to Fox 13.
