Costa Rica derrota 3-1 a Estados Unidos y sueña con el Mundial (VIDEO, FOTOS)

Naufraga EE.UU. en Costa Rica (VIDEO)

La selección de Costa Rica dio un golpe de autoridad en su estadio Nacional y puso un pie para estar en el Mundial de Brasil 2014, luego de derrotar de manera categórica a su similar de Estados Unidos 3-1 y ponerse a la cabeza de la eliminatoria de la Concacaf.

El conjunto tico en esta ocasión entendió lo que estaba en juego, por lo que este triunfo le valió saltar a la primera posición al llegar a 14 unidades, dejando al cuadro de las barras y las estrellas con 13 puntos en segundo lugar.

El partido desde el principio fue del cuadro local, pues desde los primeros 10 minutos ya lo ganaba por dos goles, después de las anotaciones de Johnny Acosta al minuto 3, luego de un cabezazo, y de Celso Borges, quien por la misma vía puso la pelota en las redes.

Estados Unidos trató de reaccionar, pero fue el cuadro tico el que estuvo más cerca del tercero que el visitante del primero, en aproximaciones a cargo de Christian Bolaños y Joel Campbell, pero el portero estadounidense Howard logró evitar la caída de su marco.

Sin embargo, al minuto 41 en una desconcentración del portero Keylor Navas -quien ya había tenido paradas sobresalientes-, hizo que Estados Unidos acortara el marcador, luego de cometerle una falta al delantero Fabian Johnson en el área grande. El encargado de ejecutarlo fue Clint Dempsey, quien a pesar de habérselo estrellado al portero, para su suerte el balón se fue a las redes.

Para el segundo tiempo, Estados Unidos se fue con todo en busca de gol del empate, pero la zaga costarricense se empleó bien a fondo; sin embargo, el cuadro tico le cortó al minuto 75 las aspiraciones al cuadro norteamericano en un descuido defensivo, luego de que Joel Campbell en un despeje largo le ganó la carrera a su marcador para definir ante la salida de Howard.

La tercera anotación dejó sin poder ofensivo al equipo de Klinsmann, que se desconcentró y ya no pudo llegar a modo al marco del arquero Navas, por lo que Costa Rica sobrellevó las acciones hasta el silbatazo final.
