"The View" has denied a report claiming that Barbara Walters and her colleagues are disappointed with Jenny McCarthy, the newest member of their crew.
Radar quoted anonymous production insiders who said that McCarthy's job is seriously on the line because "viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth,” and if the new host does not improve, "she will be gone."
A representative for the show pushed back at those claims on Tuesday.
“There is absolutely no truth to this story,” the representative told the Daily News. The paper cheekily noted that this is a standard line by the show, and has been used to deny rumors that prove to be true in the future.
"The View" has been through a number of changes recently, most notably the departures of Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who left the show in July to join Fox News' "Fox & Friends." McCarthy made her debut on the show in September. Barbara Walters, the show's only remaining original host, is also set to leave in 2014.
