There’s a new book out on our beloved Jenni Rivera.

Riverdale Avenue Books recently released an unauthorized biography on the Mexican-American singer who died tragically in a plane crash on December 9, 2012.

Rivera was not only a Latina role-model but a very successful one. She sold over 15 million albums worldwide and was nominated for the Latin Grammys in 2003, 2008 and 2010. Her death took the Latino world by surprise.

The unauthorized 181-page biography titled “We Love Jenni” was written by New York Times best-selling author Marc Shapiro and journalist Charles Vazquez. It was released on February 26 in English and Spanish in both e-book ($9.99) and paperback ($19.99).

Jenni Rivera’s unauthorized biography

The authors wrote about Rivera’s early life, her teenage pregnancy, the journey to her professional career and climb to the top as “Diva de la Banda.” It discusses the details of the day of the plane crash where Jenni Rivera and the six others died.

It also tells of the singer’s scandals including a filmed a sex tape with a former lover, reports Latina.

Shapiro has written biographies on celebrities such as J. K. Rowling and Justin Bieber. He says “We Love Jenni” is the story of a woman “who never shied away from any of the huge problems she faced in life—her rough and tumble childhood, her cheating husband, her first love who in reality was a child molesting monster, her son’s indiscretion with an underage girl and so much more.”

“Jenni was such an amazing woman—it’s reflected in her fiery live performances and the music that would set many millions on the course for equal rights for women in a long male-dominated Mexican culture,” Shapiro added. “She was a star in a world that many of us did not know and only her sad, untimely death kept her from breaking out and having it all.”

There is also a memoir coming out written by Jenni Rivera before her death called “Unbreakable.” According to Atria, “Unbreakable” will provide “an intimate look into the heart and soul of this self-made woman, who ascended to the top of the charts against all odds, becoming a legend in a completely male dominated music category.”

Jenni Rivera’s memoir is set to be released this summer.
