Maybe he should have thrown in the towel instead of getting so upset about one.

A Florida man sits behind bars on $100,000 bail after allegedly slashing his roommate with a box cutter during a fight over a dirty towel, according to Sun-Sentinel.com.

John Herrick, 54, was arrested Thursday night after police in Cape Coral, Florida, got a call from a neighbor who overhead a heated argument in his home.

“I just started going to the park, passed the front of the house and a guy came running out with another guy yelling at him,” neighbor Peter Sherwin told WBBH TV. “The one guy was carrying a very large stick.”

Investigators said Herrick was intoxicated when he and his roommate bickered about a dirty towel in the bathroom.

Herrick allegedly cut his roommate's legs with a box cutter he carried on his tool belt before running away, WINKNews.com reports.

The roommate was taken to an emergency room and was hospitalized overnight.

Herrick returned home when he saw the ambulance and was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, according to News-Press.com.

Herrick remains in the Lee County Jail on $100,000 bail.
