These Lions Are So Passionate About Conservation They Interrupt Their Own PSA

These Lions Are So Pro-Lion They Interrupt Their Own PSA

World Lion Day is August 10, and Kevin Richardson -- known on YouTube as The Lion Whisperer -- and his pals are excited.

Except, in the video above, Richardson can't finish telling us about the day because two adorably vocal lions, Tau and Napoleon, interrupt him by roaring in agreement.

The lions are right: World Lion Day is something to be excited about. The event is the first global campaign to celebrate the importance of the lion worldwide, and to raise awareness about the species. The day's website puts it best: "To lose the lion from our world would be to lose part of our global heritage."

And this is a real concern. Despite the fact that they've held much symbolic importance throughout the ages, African lions are listed as a vulnerable on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List of Threatened Species.

According to the IUCN, "Recent studies have shown lions exist in 67 areas across the continent; but only 9 countries have at least 1000 individuals and 5 countries are thought to have lost their populations entirely since 2002."

In any case, we don't blame these lions for interrupting their friend in support of their day -- roar on, guys.
