For the first time since the 2012 election, President Barack Obama is heading back to Northern California.

The President will be in town April 3-4 for a series of fundraising events for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The visit will mark his first fundraiser for next year's midterm election.

The visit is the kickoff to Obama's aggressive campaign to regain control of the House of Representatives and maintain control of the Senate. It should thus come as no surprise that Nancy Pelosi will reportedly be in attendance at next week's events.

"I would expect that Nancy Pelosi is going to be Speaker again pretty soon," he told House Democrats at a party retreat last month.

So what's on the docket for the upcoming POTUS trip? Dinner with Alice Waters and Tyler Florence? A concert with Michael Franti?

While the post-election itinerary hardly has the shine of the President's previous trips, the reports still leave plenty to get excited about, leading some to make predictions about the future party hopefuls.

First stop on the POTUS itinerary is a $5,000-a-head cocktail reception at the home of Kat Taylor and hedge fund manager turned environmental activist Tom Steyer. Potentially awkward moment: Steyer has been a vocal opponent of the Keystone XL pipeline which could make for some delicate conversation. (Read on.) (credit:Getty Images)

Aaaand it wouldn't be an Obama visit without a protest over the Keystone XL pipeline! Progressive group CREDO Action Network (who recently made headlines over a protest at Mark Zuckerberg's Chris Christie fundraiser) told The Huffington Post that more than 600 people have already pledged to join the protest. Details are even murkier on the Silicon Valley lunch, but CNN reports it will cost between $1000 and $20,000 per person, leaving no room for financial planning whatsoever. (credit:Getty Images)
