Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) will announce his campaign for president on July 13, Politico reported Thursday.
Aides to Walker told the AP the governor will file the necessary paperwork for a 2016 run on Thursday, and hold an official kickoff later in the month in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
According to HuffPost Pollster, Walker is trailing several GOP primary candidates, including business mogul Donald Trump, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Rand Paul (Ky.). However, he's polling ahead of several other GOP hopefuls, including former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
