Brutus Buckeye, Ohio State's mascot, might reconsider joining in on a football practice next time after taking a hard hit on Saturday.
Brutus lined up to take a snap during a spring practice when the top-heavy homer attempted to channel his inner Braxton Miller. As a hole opened in front of him, Brutus made a run for it. But linebacker David Perkins wasn't about to show him any mercy, even on Student Appreciation Day.
Perkins fiercely leveled Brutus and sent the ball flying out of the mascot's arms. Fortunately, Brutus quickly got back on his feet and brushed himself off to cheers from the stands.
According to elevenwarriors.com, Perkins said afterwards that he didn't mean to hit the mascot that hard.
