Equipped with weights that impede movement and googles and ear mufflers that impair perception, subjects stumbled through a sobriety field test first. Then while wearing just the goggles, they got behind the wheel. Merely avoiding pylons becomes a monumental task.
"I can't believe people drive like this," one subject said.
We can't either, but it happens far too often. An average of 28 people a day die in car crashes involving a drunk driver, the CDC noted.
