It's not quite a bull in a china shop, but a horse in a basement can cause a lot of damage.
A window was shattered when Summer, a pet horse in Colorado, fell through a basement pane, The Castle Rock News reported.
That wreckage was small potatoes compared to the unexpected home renovations owner Alice Golter had to undertake to get Summer outdoors again.
Rescue workers, which included veterinarians, firefighters, and Elbert County sheriffs, came to help. They determined that the stairs inside Golter's home weren't strong enough to support the huge animal, so a hole was cut in the foundation of the house, KDVR reported.
After four hours of work, there was a large enough opening for Summer to exit the basement.
The horse had been munching on weeds and sunflowers in the backyard when she toppled through the window.
