Maybe this pitcher should start using a pitcher.
The San Francisco Giants' Madison Bumgarner, who's gained attention for guzzling an increasing number of beers at once following important victories, drank six at a time Thursday after the Giants defeated the St. Louis Cardinals to advance to the World Series.
Bumgarner drank four beers at once after the Giants won the Wild Card game on Oct. 1, then increased to five after the Giants beat the Nationals in the divisional series last week.
Thursday's stunt, which included teammates pouring champagne into the cascading brew, looks more like a shower than a chugalug.
Bumgarner's growing beer celebrations have become a team superstition, Yahoo's Big League Stew reports. "I don't know if I can hold any more than [six]," said Bumgarner, who was voted MVP of the National League Championship Series. "I had to keep it going though, because we seem to keep winning. We don't want to change anything up."
