El misterio en torno al vuelo 370 de Malaysia Airlines que desapareció cuatro días atrás se ahondó más este martes cuando la Fuerza Aérea malaya anunció que el piloto se desvió de su ruta y recorrió centenares de millas en dirección opuesta antes de esfumarse sin dejar rastro.

Los investigadores encuentran difícil creer que durante ese lapso - al menos una hora - no hubo ninguna comunicación del avión con tierra, ningún aviso o notificación de peligro.

El avión se dirigía de Kuala Lumpur a Pekín con con sus 239 pasajeros y tripulantes, cuando desapareció en la mañana del sábado.

Al mismo tiempo, Ronald Noble, director general de la Interpol afirmó desde Francia que pese a que descubrieron que al menos dos pasajeros viajaban con pasaportes robados, y que éstos habían sido solicitados desde Irán, no creían que había una motivación terrorista.

Sin embargo, las revelaciones sobre el desvío del vuelo vuelven a plantear la posibilidad de que alguien se hizo cargo del timón de la nave y la desvió en dirección contraria. El director general de la Agencia Central de Inteligencia (CIA) de Estados Unidos John Brennan, dijo este martes que no puede descartar un acto de terrorismo y que el misterio es "muy pero muy preocupante".

"Este tipo de desviación de curso es simplemente inexplicable", dijo a CNN Paul Goelz, exdirector de la Junta Nacional de Seguridad en el Transporte (NTSB), la agencia federal estadounidense encargada de este tipo de investigaciones.

Los investigadores hallaron indicios electrónicos de la presencia de la nave cerca del islote Pulau Perak en el estrecho de Malaca, a centenares de millas de la ruta que llevaría al avión a China.

En un caso similar - el del vuelo Air France 447 que desapareció en 2009 en el Atlántico - los investigadores tardaron 5 días para detectar sus señales en alta mar y otros dos años hasta que encontraron los restos del avión y los cuerpos de muchos de las víctimas. Y con cada día que pasa, las corrientes marinas van empujando los posibles restos más allá y la búsqueda se hace más y más difícil.

La agencia china de noticias Xinhua informó que el gobierno dedica 10 satélites a la búsqueda del avión.

Hasta ahora no hay ninguna teoría unificadora que explique lo sucedido.
