WATCH: Sports Teams Honors Victims Of Marathon Bombing

In the hours after a pair of deadly explosions rocked the Boston Marathon, athletes and fans at sporting events around the country observed moments of silence to honor the victims.

Although a game between the Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators scheduled for Monday night at TD Garden was postponed and a Celtics' home game for Tuesday was cancelled outright, professional sports elsewhere continued as scheduled on Monday.

In addition to these displays of solidarity at arenas and ballparks from coast to coast, many athletes also expressed their shock and sorrow over the violence in Boston on social media.
