A young man tests the boundaries of friendship and romance in “Stay With Me,” a gripping short film from Taiwan.
Released on the international festival circuit last year, “Stay With Me” is loosely based on writer-director Jian-He Lin’s experiences. The film, he told The Huffington Post, “reflects some problems in my family, and some strife and bitterness in my personal life.”
The 2015 film began as a class project while Lin was attending Hong Kong’s Huawei University of Science and Technology. “For many nights I was troubled, seeking for answers within myself. But there were no answers,” he said. “It was something I just needed to get through.”
