Steelers Coach Kirby Wilson Urges Team To Turn Philadelphia Into 'Little Bitty Eagle Meatballs' (VIDEO)

Steelers Coach Wants 'Little Bitty Eagle Meatballs'

Threats of football violence have never sounded so.. delicious. In a sideline pep talk during Sunday's game against Philadelphia, the Steelers' running back coach Kirby Wilson encouraged his team to put its opponents through the grinder.

"Do what I’m asking you to do — it works!" Wilson said. "For 15 years it’s been working! ... We’re better than this football team. We’ll ground these guys up and turn them into little bitty Eagle meatballs. But you gotta do what I’m coaching you to do!”

The speech seemed to take hold, as Pittsburgh's struggling running game found moderate success against a Philadelphia defense that had surrendered just one rushing touchdown heading into the Week 5 matchup. Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall managed 81 yards on the ground and found the endzone in his first game of the season after recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee.

"Our savior is back," said a relieved Ben Roethlisberger after the Steelers squeaked out a 16-14 victory on Shaun Suisham's 34-yard field goal as time expired.
