Super Bowl MVP Odds: Colin Kaepernick, Joe Flacco Favored To Win Most Valuable Player

Entering Super Bowl XLVIII, 25 quarterbacks have been named Super Bowl MVP. Not surprisingly, Colin Kaepernick and Joe Flacco are the odds-on favorites to take home the Pete Rozelle Trophy this year.

Of course, neither Flacco or Kaepernick have ever been named to a Pro Bowl or appeared in the Super Bowl so superlative, MVP-worthy performances are no sure thing. That being said, both have impressed on the road to New Orleans.

Flacco has yet to throw an interception while connecting on eight touchdown passes in three playoff games. He has outplayed Rookie of the Year candidate Andrew Luck along with two other quarterbacks you may have heard of, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. While doing so, the five-year veteran broke the record for most career playoff wins on the road, a title formerly held by two-time Super Bowl champ Eli Manning (a quarterback who knows a bit about Super Bowl MVP Awards).

In San Francisco's first playoff game against Green Bay after a first-round bye, Kaepernick set a jaw-dropping record of his own. Despite throwing a pick-six on just his second pass of the game, the second-year, former second-stringer bounced back by rushing for more yards than any quarterback in any game ever en route to a win. Along with the 257 passing yards and 181 rushing, he finished off the Packers with four touchdowns (two through the air and two on the ground).

But will either of them be named MVP when it's all said and done? Will the only other Super Bowl MVP on the field, Ray Lewis, take home the honors for a second time? Or will another player make a stellar performance worthy of the Most Valuable Player award?
