While defined as an emotional state of being, hope can also be a spiritual disposition of the soul. The Bible says a lot about hope including stories of people losing hope and stories of people finding it. There are verses about what people are hoping for and passages about hopelessness and prayers asking God for hope. Below is a selection of the word hope in many contexts in the Bible.
