Alabama Fans Cheer LSU Basketball For Crossing Half Court (Video)

Crimson Chide: Alabama's Fans Mockingly Cheer As LSU's Basketball Team Crosses Half Court

Legendary Alabama quarterback Joe Namath once said "Learn how to be a gracious winner and an outstanding loser."

In the wake of 'Bama's triumph over SEC rival LSU in the BCS National Championship Game, however, it seems that today's Tide fans are not paying much attention to the words of a quarterback who left campus in 1964. Two days after Alabama's shutout BCS win, LSU's basketball team visited Tuscaloosa. Although they were playing a completely different sport, the Crimson Tide still found a way to take a shot at LSU's football team.

Shortly after tip-off, Alabama fans engaged in seemingly premeditated cheer when LSU crossed mid-court for the first time. The cheers were in reference to the struggles LSU's football team had crossing the 50-yard line during Monday's game, which they were only able to do once and not until after the game was out of hand.

The Tide would ultimately get the first and last laugh in the game, winning the contest easily by a score of 69-53 -- but at least the Tigers didn't get shut out.
