Celebrating its 15th anniversary, on Tuesday morning the Billboard organization announced the new list of nominees for its 2013 Latin Music Awards. Puerto Rican singer Don Omar came up with 18 nominations, but the greatest surprise of the day was the 11 nominations obtained by late Mexican American singer Jenni Rivera.

Rivera died last December 9th in a plane crash in Mexico that left no survivors. She released "Joyas Prestadas" a year earlier, and a new compilation album “La Misma Gran Señora” just two days after her death. Both musical productions are now being nominated as "Best Album of the Year."

Every year the organization honors the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music, as determined by the sales, radio airplay, streaming and social data during a one-year period. According to the institution, the discretionary prizes including Spirit of Hope for humanitarian contributions, the Lifetime Achievement award and Hall of Fame, are also presented on the show.

The awards ceremony will be broadcasted live on Telemundo on Thursday, April 25 at 7/6 PM (ET) from the Bank United Center at the University of Miami.
