On October 9, 1940 John Winston Lennon was born in Liverpool, England. He would have turned 75 in 2015.

The musician, singer, songwriter, activist and one of the founding members of the Beatles left an indelible mark on the world. In his short life that brutally ended when he was murdered at 40, Lennon's urging that "love is the answer" and to "give peace a chance" continues to strike a mighty chord.
