Win or lose, Joe Maddon was going to remain popular with Rays fans on Tuesday night. Well, win or lose, he was going to be popular with Rays fans in the vicinity of Long Beach, Calif. With his team mired in a five-game losing streak and in Southern California to face the Angels, Maddon promised a "win or weep party" at a bar in Long Beach after the game.

Making the promised beverages taste all the sweeter, the Rays managed to halt their skid with a 7-1 win over the Angels in Anaheim. The win kept the Rays just 5.5 games behind the Red Sox in the AL East race and 2.5 games ahead of the Yankees in the chase for the second Wild Card spot. After the game, the team boarded a bus for watering hole selected by Maddon, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
