Presidential Debate: Mitt Romney Agrees With Barack Obama's Drone Strategy

Romney Agrees With Obama's Drone Strategy

Mitt Romney sought to ally himself with a multitude of President Barack Obama's policies during the third and final debate. That included the use of drones to target alleged terrorists overseas.

"I believe we should use any and all means necessary," Romney said when asked if he agreed with the president's policy. "I support that entirely and feel the president was right to up the usage of that policy."

Romney added his belief that killing terrorists did not make a complete counter-terrorism policy, something that he offered earlier in the night.

Drones are a source of tremendous debate in the foreign policy world, with serious disagreement over whether they are a form of torture or inspire more terrorist activity than they eliminate. But in a presidential campaign, where neither candidate wants to appear weaker than the other, there is little room for disagreement.

"Al Qaeda was much weaker than it was when I came to office and they don’t have the same capacities to attack the U.S. homeland," Obama said.
