Home cooks, rejoice! Your used aluminum cookware can look like new -- no scrubbing required. There is a way to remove stains and give your aluminum cookware back its former shine, and all it takes is one unexpected ingredient: Apple peels.

In the dirty or stained pot or pan, boil apple peels in water and let it simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. The acid released from the peels will break down any stains and discoloration and restore the cookware back to its original finish. Let it cool down afterwards for a couple minutes. Then, wash your pot with dish soap, rinse and dry. And, for an added bonus, your kitchen will be left smelling fruity fresh.
