San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker lost to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, but he might have scored himself a fiance.
During a Q&A Wednesday for Swiss watchmaker Tissot, for which he is a brand ambassador, Parker dropped the word "fiance" when discussing what he does to unwind after a game, Us Weekly noted. The 31-year-old has been dating Axelle Francine, a French journalist, for two years, according to E! News.
An engagement might not come as much of a surprise to some. A source told the Daily Mail the French point guard is "madly in love" with Francine. The tabloid also claims he was spotted out shopping for engagement rings just last week.
Parker was previously married to actress Eva Longoria. The two wed in 2007 and split three years later after the "Devious Maids" producer found on his phone hundreds of text messages from Erin Barry, ex-wife of former Spurs player Brent Barry.
Although Longoria struggled with the very public split, she still has love for the Spurs (she is a Corpus Christi native after all). During the Finals, she tweeted the team good luck.
In a 2011 interview, her first following the divorce announcement, she said that she wants the best for Parker.
"It was heartbreaking," she told Piers Morgan. "So many people want me to hate him and destroy him, but I don't want to. I want him to be happy. He's not a bad person. I do believe in forgiving and forgetting. There was a reason we were together. I just want to hold on to the good times."
