El mundo entero la conoce como 'La Reina de los bajitos', un ícono que divirtió y sigue divirtiendo a generaciones y generaciones de niños. Sin embargo, nadie sabía los momentos difíciles que le tocó atravesar a Xuxa durante su infancia y parte de la adolescencia. En una entrevista profunda que el show dominical más famoso de Brasil, llamado 'Fantástico' de la red OGlobo, la presentadora y empresaria confesó que fue abusada hasta los 13 años por diferentes hombres cercanos a la familia, uno de ellos el futuro esposo de su abuela.

En la entrevista también habló de su relación con el futbolista Pelé, con quién dijo que vivió momentos maravillosos, pero que la relación terminó porque todo el mundo especulaba que ella sólo estaba con él para hacerse famosa. En ese momento, Xuxa recién comenzaba con su carrera de modelo.

Sin embargo, hubo otro hombre que sí dice marcó su vida: el corredor de autos Ayrton Senna, con quien tuvo una relación corta pero intensa y al que hoy define como el único y gran amor de su vida. "Él murió un domingo y yo hablé con él el sábado. Debo sentirme feliz de ser unas de las pocas personas que son tocadas con la felicidad de haber conocido el amor verdadero", dijo.

Otra de las sorpresas de la entrevista fue cuando habló del modo que conoció a Michael Jackson y hasta confesó que el cantante ya fallecido, la invitó a su casa, después de haberle mostrado su vida en el cine de su mansión, le ofreció casarse con él y tener hijos: "Yo no podía creer que estuviera con mi ídolo, en su casa, en su cine, él sabía todo de mí, mi historia, todo. Yo lo amaba, pero no para lo que él proponía, sino como su fan".

El momento más difícil de la entrevista y en la que quedó por primera vez al desnudo, ya no en una de sus tantas portadas de Playboy, sino de corazón, fue cuando habló del abuso sexual que sufrió desde muy niña hasta los 13 años. Xuxa se refirió al gran compromiso que tiene su fundación con niños que sufren de todo tipo de abuso infantil, y aquellos que terminan en la calle prostituyéndose, a los cuales justifica diciendo: "En verdad ellos no saben lo que hacen, no conocen otra cosa", para continuar con su confesión.

“Yo consigo ponerme en la piel de esos niños y abrazo todas esas causas porque yo viví eso. Yo viví eso en la infancia y hasta en mi adolescencia. A los 13 años de edad fue la última vez, no sé si por el hecho de ser grande o vistosa fui abusada. No quería hablar de eso, sentía como que yo era la culpable. Pensé que estaba haciendo mal las cosas, una ropa, una actitud… No fue una persona (las que abusaron de ella), fueron unas personas, de situaciones diferentes, momentos diferentes en mi vida… Tenía vergüenza de hablar, me sentía sucia, me sentía equivocada. Si yo no hubiera tenido el amor de mi madre, me hubiera ido a la calle, el problema es que yo no hablé con mi madre porque no tenía ese tipo de confianza.

No me recuerdo la cara del primero, recuerdo su olor, olor como a alcohol, no sé quién fue, tenía ese olor a alcohol, a algo, y después sucedió muchas veces hasta los 13 años cuando conseguí irme. Ahora me da ganas hasta de vomitar cuando recuerdo lo que sucedió y no hice nada... Tenía miedo con mi padre y que pensara que yo estaba mintiendo o que había hecho algo, porque una de las veces fue con su mejor amigo que lo iban a proponer hasta de mi padrino.

Yo no podía hablar con mi madre porque una de las veces fue con un tipo que se iba a casar con mi abuela. Otro fue un profesor que luego llegó a mí diciéndome ‘Entre tu palabra y la del profesor, ¿a quién crees que van a creer?’…
Los niños no saben el valor de lo que está pasando, a veces pienso que era culpa mía (llanto) pero yo no sabía lo que estaba haciendo…”.
