Aliahna Lemmon Remembered: Best Friend Mourns Loss Of Murdered Indiana Girl (VIDEO)

Friend Mourns Loss Of Murdered 9-Year-Old Girl
|

As relatives and friends mourn the killing of 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon, one girl in particular is missing her best friend.

"Why did he have to do that to her?" elementary school classmate Kymberley Schwartz told WANE-TV."She didn't do anything to him at all."

The girls became friends in Hagerstown, Md., before Lemmon moved with her family to Fort Wayne, Ind., to take care of Aliahna's dying grandfather.

Schwartz described her friend as "trustworthy" and "kindhearted." The two girls, who kept in touch by phone and over Facebook, had planned to speak on Christmas day and share what gifts they received.

But the conversation didn't happen, because Lemmon was missing.

Michael Plumadore, 39, the Lemmon-family friend who allegedly told police he killed the girl and dismembered her body with a saw while babysitting Aliahna and her sisters, was charged Friday with murder, abuse of a corpse, and removing a dead body from a crime scene, according to the Associated Press.

Last week, the 50 people gathered near Lemmon's Fort Wayne home to visit a memorial and hold a candlelight vigil in her honor.
