To any athletes who choose not to wear a cup, let this be a lesson. On Friday, St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliott tweeted out this picture of his protective cup, which was apparently cracked while doing its job.

The incident did not seem to harm the goaltender's performance: Elliot saved 24 out of 26 shots in a win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
