Hours before getting traded to the New York Knicks in a blockbuster deal, Carmelo Anthony appeared on Conan and talked about the All-Star game and the trade rumors.
After Anthony said he didn't have any updates on the trade rumors, Conan took a different approach to the situation.
"Let me ask you a different question. What if you were really hungry?" he asked. "And you had a choice between a Denver omelette, salt water taffy from New Jersey or Manhattan clam chowder, which one would you want to eat?"
Surprisingly, Melo chose the Denver omelette, but then started to explain that he wanted the situation to end.
Later in the interview, Conan told him that he thought it would be great if the announcement happened before the show so he could give him his new uniform.
"Unfortunately, we can't do that so I hedged my bets and had this jersey made for you," Conan said, presenting a jersey made up of the Nets, Knicks and Nuggets colors. Scroll down to watch the video.
