¿Qué hace Eduardo Noriega encadenado y con esa carita de malvado? El actor español forma parte del elenco de "The Last Stand (El último desafío)", la nueva cinta de acción de Arnold Schwarzenegger con la que toma por asalto una vez más la pantalla grande.
La cinta sigue la historia del sheriff de un pequeño poblado fronterizo (Arnold), que debe enfrentarse a Gabriel Cortez, un narcotraficante (Noriega) escapándose del FBI. En sus tiempos de gloria "don Arnoldo" era un importante oficial de narcóticos en la policía de Los Angeles, pero ahora decide pasar su tiempo disparando vacas rodeado de los habitantes locos de su pueblo (incluyendo a Johnny Knoxville y Luis Guzmán).
Pero entonces le llega la noticia de que Cortez está en plena persecución policíaca a bordo de un Corvette ZR1 a más de 200 millas por horas en una frenética lucha para cruzar la frontera hacia México, mientras todos los oficiales, incluyendo el personaje de Forest Whitaker, andan en su rastro. Y Schwarzenegger no estará muy feliz de que este criminal tenga que pasar por su pueblo, así que es hora de desempolvar sus armas, volver a entrenar, tronarse los huesitos y comprobar que está muy viejo para esto... Bueno, aún así irá a perseguirlo.
En el elenco también destacan la presencia de la bella Génesis Rodriguez y el brasileño Rodrigo Santoro.
