Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Josh Collmenter provided a little more than just one inning of relief on Sunday when he combined with catcher Miguel Montero for one of the craziest circus catches of the young MLB season.
Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria popped up a bunt in the bottom of the eighth that had both Arizona players scrambling along the third base line. As Montero went for the sliding catch, the ball tipped off of his glove. Collmenter quickly attempted a barehanded grab, but popped it back up before making the snag above his head to reel in the first out of the inning.
Collmenter faced three batters and recorded a strikeout, but the Diamondbacks eventually fell to the Marlins 2-1.
