Emotions were running high before kickoff of "The Game" as Michigan players made their way on to the field at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
The Buckeyes were waiting for them and that's when the jawing and shoving began. At one point Ohio State fullback Zach Boren went right up to some of the visiting Wolverines and got in their faces. The TV cameras also caught OSU defensive back Bradley Roby and Michigan's Dennis Norfleet getting into it by the sideline.
Even though both teams are usually fired up before the annual rivalry matchup, perhaps the players were fueled by Ohio State coach Urban Meyer's comments leading up to the game.
Although the pregame drama may not have been as intense as when the Buckeyes trampled the Michigan banner in 1973, the warmup scuffle is just another example of the mutual disdain between Michigan and Ohio State.
The Buckeyes went on to outlast Michigan and win 26-21 to complete their undefeated season.
