Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice married Janay Palmer on Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. The ceremony reportedly took place one day after Rice was indicted by a grand jury on one count of aggravated assault for allegedly assaulting Palmer in a casino elevator in Atlantic City, N.J.

Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith told The Baltimore Sun that he visited Rice after the wedding on Friday.

"I went by yesterday after everything happened and checked up on them and they're happy ... they're growing. They're trying to better themselves from it," Smith told The Baltimore Sun.

Both the 27-year-old Pro Bowler and Palmer were arrested on simples assault charges in February after the alleged physical altercation. Surveillance footage obtained TMZ appeared to show Rice dragging a seemingly unconscious Palmer out of an elevator at the casino.
