As if falling short in the 2014 U.S. Open by a distant 15 strokes wasn't enough of a bummer to start Rory McIlroy's week, it appears the 25-year-old golfer currently has another cross to bear: airline travel.

To United's credit, they were on top of the problem almost immediately.
It's so nice to see an airline company using social media toward positive ends for a change. McIlroy's quest to take his first Irish Open begins Thursday.
