Winter's Three Best Art Exhibitions In Museums Around The World

To those of you who are brave and smart enough to travel to Europe in the next few weeks to avoid crowds and enjoy snowflakes dancing in the air, here is my choice of the most interesting museum exhibitions.

1.Ensor and Contemporary Art, through February 27 at the S.M.A.K. (Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst), Ghent, Belgium

If you happen to be in Belgium you must go to the beautiful ancient city of Ghent, to see the James Ensor exhibition at S.M.A.K. (Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst): Ensor and Contemporary Art, which runs through February 27th. Even at the start of the 21st Century, Ensor's subjects and points of view remain resoundingly up to date. Such subjects as the mask and the grotesque, social critique, the self-portrait, the identification with Christ, the masses, satire and death have after all lost none of their relevance in the contemporary visual art.

2.Henry Moore, The Studio, Sculptures and Drawings, through February 27 at the Musée Rodin, Paris, France

For those lucky to be in Paris right now-the Musée Rodin is hosting a titillating exhibition Henry Moore, The Studio, Sculptures and Drawings, which runs until February 27th. What a treat it must be to see works by this great 20th Century British artist in context with the timeless masterpieces by Rodin.

3.Anish Kapoor: Turning the World Upside Down, at the Serpentine Gallery through March 13, London, UK

London, as usual, offers a myriad of art distractions but the most exotic right now is an exhibition of sculptures by Anish Kapoor in Kensington Gardens, organized by the Serpentine Gallery. This internationally acclaimed Indian-born, London-based artist is famous for his highly reflective stainless steel sculptures whose giant curved mirror surfaces reflect and distort their surroundings.
