While there was no tribute during Fox's All-Star Game broadcast to the late and legendary Tony Gwynn, who passed away in June, Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones did his best to honor the Hall of Famer. Jones, a San Diego native who idolized Gwynn growing up, wrote "TG19" (Gwynn's initials and jersey number) on the baseball cap he wore throughout the game on Tuesday night.
Jones wasn't the only All-Star to pay tribute to a late baseball icon. During the player introductions at Target Field, Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price patted the ZIM patch on his chest to honor Don Zimmer, who also passed away in June. A former player, manager and coach, Zimmer had been working with the Rays as an adviser when he died at 83.
