Former England soccer captain David Beckham appealed for help on Friday in finding Madeleine McCann, the three-year-old British girl kidnapped from a holiday resort in Portugal more than a week ago.

The Real Madrid player asked people to "please, please help" find the child, who turns four on Saturday.

Manchester United's Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, Chelsea's John Terry and Everton's Phil Neville have made similar pleas and a businessman has offered a million pound ($1.98 million) reward.
