Anti-Gay Group President: 'Shep, Come Out Of The Closet!'

Apparently, Fox News just isn't conservative enough for some Americans.

Cliff Kincaid, the president of an anti-gay conservative group known as America's Survival, Inc. gave an extensive lecture at the National Press Club on Aug. 27 where he called on Fox News' Shepard Smith to come out of the closet.

Smith serves as anchor of Fox News' "The Fox Report," as well as hosting "Studio B with Shepard Smith." Fox News describes his reporting style as "geared towards utilizing [a] pull-no-punches attitude to cover the stories of the day."

America's Survival, Inc. also recently released a 40,000-word report that allegedly evidences "radical changes at Fox News that should cause great concern to pro-family conservatives," and claims that Fox News "has become pro-homosexual propaganda.”

During the presentation, Kincaid referenced how Out magazine listed Smith as one of the most powerful LGBT figures in media on their "Power List," despite that fact that Smith has never publicly discussed his sexuality. He has appeared on this list for a number of years.

"I don't know about you," Kincaid said during his presentation, "but if I was listed as one of the most powerful homosexuals in the media I would first demand a retraction and probably sue for defamation and collect a lot of money. Shepard Smith, according to my information, as never asked that be taken down."

Historically, Out magazine has included prominent cultural figures that are widely understood or believed to be gay or lesbian on their power list, even if that individual has never publicly discussed their sexuality. Anderson Cooper and Jodie Foster had been featured on the list for a number of years, having both been cover stars in 2007 in a groundbreaking issue titled "The Glass Closet," even though neither addressed their sexuality publicly until 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Other figures to be included in the listing that have still never officially come out include media mogul Barry Diller and, holding the number one spot for the third year in a row, Apple CEO Tim Cook.
