The "Fail Mary" proved to be quite a success for at least one lucky bettor.
After the replacement ref debacle that marred Seattle's victory over Green Bay on "Monday Night Football," oddsmakers in Las Vegas said that $300 million changed hands worldwide due to the botched call. Now we know who got his hands on some of that dough.
According to the Toronto Sun, Gino DiFelice from Ontario won $725,274 by going 15 for 15 in his picks for Week 3. Per the report, DiFelice filled out two tickets, one he completed on his own and another with the help of his 10- and 12-year-old kids.
"The winner was the ticket my daughter consulted me on," he said. "The funniest part is, the ticket I made all of the picks myself, I only got four right."
Of course, not everyone could be as lucky as DiFelice -- including the Green Bay Packers.
Charles Barkley wasn't too thrilled after Golden Tate's controversial touchdown catch, along with the other questionable calls the replacement refs made, telling "The Mike Missanelli Show" on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia that he lost money on the game. Barkley didn't reveal how much he lost but said it was "five figures."
If only he made his bet at The D Las Vegas, he may have got his money back.
