J.C. Copeland is LSU bound in the first big surprise on National Signing Day 2010, swapping his commitment from Tennessee to LSU.
Oregon apparently made a late push for Copeland's services, but ultimately fell short. However, their advice for him not to go to Tennessee may have attributed to his switch to LSU.
The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reported less than 24 hours ago that Copeland was determined to stick with Tennessee despite a last minute visit to LSU.
LSU's late push, like Oregon's, had been well documented.
Copeland is a 4-star defensive end prospect, described by ESPN as a "high-motor, physical defender."
