Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy taught the Arizona Diamondbacks a lesson in payback on Tuesday. After Arizona reliever Evan Marshall appeared to intentionally plunk Ryan Braun to load the bases in the seventh inning, resulting in an immediate ejection (and a high-five from D-Backs manager Kirk Gibson), Lucroy stepped up to the plate and retaliated in the best way possible.

He launched a go-ahead grand slam to the seats in center field on the first pitch he saw, giving Milwaukee a 7-4 lead. It was his second homer of the game.

"I think the at-bat Luc had was probably the best at-bat I've ever seen," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said after the win, via MLB.com. "After they smoke our guy, they bring in [right-hander Brad Ziegler], first pitch [Lucroy] sees, he hits a grand slam. There's just no way an at-bat can get bigger than that."

Brewers pitcher Kyle Loshe had hit D-Backs shortstop Chris Owings with a pitch in the sixth inning, though it did not appear intentional. He also nearly hit another batter later in the inning.

But there may have been another factor involved in Marshall's targeting of Braun. In August 2013, Gibson told the Associated Press that "cheaters" like Braun, who was suspended last season for 65 games over PED use, rob others players of opportunities.
