Michael Strem may be only a senior at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif., but that hasn't stopped him from a few big-league performances.
Notably, he threw a 66-pitch perfect game earlier this month to advance the team to the state quarterfinals, an accomplishment Strem noted by tweeting, simply, "#perfectgame."
According to Silicon Valley's Mercury News, Strem's perfect game was the first in the history of the St. Francis baseball team.
The feat was made even more impressive, notes Yahoo!, given that Strem struck out all 21 batters with only 66 pitches, for an average of barely more than 3 pitches per batter. Of those pitches, 48 were strikes, which racked up 8 strikeouts for the pitcher.
St. Francis beat out rival high school Valley Christian in the quarterfinals on May 18 with a score of 3-0 to advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for May 22.
